A Season for Resurrection

As Easter approaches we are reminded of the wonderful gift of Grace God shed for all of us. Jesus came for you and me and walked the earth to demonstrate love for every person no matter their sin. Love is not something we earn it something promised from God. Many of us were taught love is conditional and must be earned or kept. Jesus came, walked, lived and loved unconditionally. Gods love for us is so much more than we can imagine. It says so in Ephesians 3:19, "...and to know this love that surpasses knowledge-that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. "
So in this season let us embrace resurrection and know love. Let us love ourselves enough to rise up in areas of our lives where we need to. For some this may be eating healthier, exercising more, forgiving, letting go, or just finding a bit of self confidence. Jesus came to show us unconditional love. Let us try to pass it on starting with God, self, family, and others.
As we set the table so others gather around and enjoy good food and company may we remember Jesus and may our hearts overflow with abundant joy knowing we are loved more than anything that may show up in a Easter Basket. Gather your people, love them, serve them, and live life on purpose for the purpose God has in store for you.

Hot Cross Buns date back to at least the 14th century, when a monk is said to have baked buns marked with a cross to distribute to the poor on Good Friday. Over time, the custom spread, and by the 16th century, hot cross buns had become a widely recognized Easter treat. They are filled with spices and raisins or currants and topped with a cross representing the crucifixion of Jesus. The spices are said to represent the spices that Jesus was embalmed with. This is definitely a treat that not only tastes great but helps bring up conversation about Easter and Jesus. I hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
Ingredients
1 cup warm milk
2 tsp instant dried yeast
Mix this together and let the yeast bloom on top of the milk
then add in:
6 tbsp melted butter
2 eggs
Using your dough hook attachment mix in:
4 cups ap flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp allspice
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1 cup of currants or raisins
Mix and set aside for two hours until doubled in size.
Punch dough down and make 12 rolls. Mix 1/3 cup all purpose flour and 2 Tbsp sugar with just enough warm water to make a paste. Pipe a cross on top of each roll.
Bake at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes. While hot brush with powdered sugar and milk mixture. (I mic 1/2 cup powdered sugar with 2-3 tbsp milk)
